Un "petit" up, mais je viens d'arriver

Voici qqes photos prises avec la version non AF du Cosina, et sans la bonnette 1:1;

Pour ceux qui seraient intéressés par une entrée dans le monde de la macro, ca me parait vraiment un bon choix, encore maintenant, par rapport aux bonnettes et autres bagues d'allonge.

Surnommé dans les tests "la creme dans un pot de yaourt" le Cosina 100 macro f3.5 existe sous d'autres noms : Vivitar/Voigtlander/Phoenix... Il est testé sur Photozone en monture Pentax.

Sans sa bague 1:1, donc photo faites en 1:2; trouvé à 75€ sur Liège; j'ai trouvé la bonnette sur ebay pour 10€, je devrais la recevoir rapidement.
85€ me parait un budget imbattable pour ce résultat.

Photos sans retouches, prise à main levée sans flash avec le D300; juste un passage dlight dans Capture NX, je les trouvais un peu sombre (probleme d'apprentissage du tout manuel on va dire :D )

Trouvé à ce prix là je prends aussi, je trouve le rendu des couleurs agréables ça changerait un peu, à tous

Je reprend ce fil, avec une petite question a propos de la compatibilité nikon D40 + cosina AF 100mm.

J'ai pu lire, qu'il etait incompatible sur certain post internet, mais le contraire serait vrai egalement. D'ailleur il y a plein de photo dispo sur flickr, du coup je ne sais pas a qui me fier.

Ailleurs j'ai pu lire ceci que le cosina 100mm était non compatible D40/D50/D3000, mais Compatible avec D90/D200/D300.

Dites moi si quelqu'un a pu le monter sur un D40 ou peu être un cailloux équivalent a la limite.

Please forgive me for not writing this post French. It's simply too long ago that I formulated something meaningful in your, by the way marvellous, language.

Anyway, I am the person who took the Flickr picture above ('Piano Black'). I've read and understood the questions around it, and would like to share my experience with this lens with you guys.

With regards to mounting the Cosina 100mm f/3.5 to a D40, this is perfectly possible. It is a CPU lens that auto-focuses mechanically. In practice, this means the following on all Nikon bodies without built-in focus motor (note that this excludes the D50!):

-Autofocus: No
-'Green dot' focus confirmation: Yes
-Light metering: Yes
-EXIF data: Yes

All other Nikon DSLR bodies, including the D50, will have 'Yes' at the first bullet point too, though I'm not sure how well AF works on this lens, considering that it's mainly made from plastic. On the other hand, in my opinion MF works better with macro photography anyway, so it's never been a big deal for me.

Thank you for your answer. I will buy this optics,as quickly as possible. It is not too expensive to begin the macro one.

I cannot comment on your photographs on flicker, but they are very beautiful. Amazing macro and minimalist style.

I will have some question by the way assembly which you made with Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 Ai-S MkIII + Cosina Macro Adapter and also Cosina 100mm f/3.5 Macro + 50mm. how it is possible? Can i write an e-mail (MP) to you?

I'm totally thrilled with this Cosina. Of everything that limits me in producing better macro shots, I feel this lens is by far the least of my worries. If you're a bit like me photographing-wise, it could be the only macro lens you'll ever need.

The 1:1 macro adapter that comes with the Cosina happens to fit quite nicely in the front rim of the 50mm f/1.8 Ai-S MkIII. You'll have to hold it in place with your hands though. For me this is not a problem because I focus manually anyway, mostly by moving my head back and forth (with the camera at my eye of course ).

Same thing with the 50mm on the (adapterless) Cosina. As the extending part of the Cosina has the same diameter as the adapter, you can reverse-fit the 50mm to it by its front rim and handhold it there while shooting. You can get very close to your subject this way, though I've found it to be pretty hard to nail the focus or to get a proper DoF. Also, forget about corner sharpness, and you have to love the occasional vignette. Anyway, for some shots it does work.

Perhaps there are also adapter rings available to make the step from the 49mm thread of the Cosina to the thread size of the Nikkor, to free you from having to handhold the second lens.

I know that I will not be disappointed with this objective. Manual focusing does not frighten me.

I will buy the adaptater 1:1, in the months has to come to test the assembly. I more or less understood your technique, but if ever I pain it above, I will return to see you. ^^
